It was hard at times. What I didn’t take into account when I started my MSc, is the fact that I will be working full time and that English is not my first language, and I have not done the first degree where you learn for example how to write essays and how to do research.
One thing that was really hard for me to understand was servers. In all the textbooks and other readings when word server was used it referred to both hardware and software as only a server. When you read about it and you don’t know it at first, it can get really confusing. It then can get quite frustrating that this seemingly easy thing is taking you so much time to understand. My partner explained it to me and it all became clear.
I was always very ambitious and would go and commit to do something, often without knowing all the details and without consideration of all the pros and cons. In some situations, this will be ok, because they aren’t hard but I wish I had more guidance before I started studies.
I don’t regret it at all. I’m happy I did it, as along the way I have learned a lot and I developed my character. The only thing I would have ever changed is to make more effort in the first year to get better grades.
