Yes, I really enjoy it. I’m lucky to have a job that I find interesting, gives me lots of interesting projects to work on and problems to solve, lets me be involved loads of different aspects of engineering, create and build things, and apply all of this to lots of different technologies as well as space. Every job involves some tasks and responsibilities that you don’t enjoy as much as others, but they are equally as important in getting things done and achieving the goals that you have. As Sylwia said, if you have a job that lets you work in something you are passionate about you’ll look forward to getting up and going in to work in the morning like I do! What sort of job do you think you’d enjoy in the future?

Most of the time I enjoy it very much. Of course there are those times when it isn’t so much fun. I am thinking particularly of when I am working on something new and complex and progress is slower than I had hoped. I really don’t like to think I am not making the progress I had expected and that feels disheartening. When this happens I will often leave work at the end of the day feeling I have achieved nothing. Even though this is a situation I have been in many times over the years I still don’t like it. Over the years I have learnt to deal with these situations and I know rationally that continuing to push forward even at a snails pace will get me through. Luckily these situations don’t happen very often in my job so mostly I can end the day thinking I have achieved something. Having said all the above there is nothing quite like the experience of getting the first images down from a satellite and that’s the moment when I know that I love what I do.
