Yes! It’s really important to keep an amazing group of people around you that can support and help you when needed, and also go out and have some fun with! Being an engineer or scientist can at times keep you really busy or be lot of hard work, so you always need to balance that with other things in your life. Our jobs can also help us to make friends in all sorts of different places as we continue to study, or travel. Hopefully you can tell by speaking to everyone on here that we’re a friendly group of people!

I don’t meet with my friends from school but we stay in touch on Facebook. It’s probably because I moved. I have no regrets though, as I have an amazing group of friends that I met when I was living in Manchester. Now when I moved to Birmingham we stay in touch and visit each other but it is harder for everyone having jobs and being busy. I have also made really good friends at work. I don’t like the idea of being different at work that you are outside and not to make friends with work colleagues.
I like to meet with my friends after work and sometimes on weekend. Also, with my friends from Manchester, we go every year to a music festival and spend a whole long weekend together. However, it is also important to have a ME time. I like my own space and my own company.

Surprisingly enough yes. Because I have worked for several foreign companies I have many friends who don’t live in the UK or are not British so I don’t get to see them nearly as much as I would like to. Luckily we do have the internet now so I can at least keep in touch. Much like school working is a good way to meet and make new friends.
