Loads! It really depends on the type on engineering for specifics, but we all solve problems, create solutions, and try to make the world a better/easier place and improve our understanding of it. Now, it might be they do that through writing software and code, building propulsion systems or engines, designing systems or fixing things when they’re not working correctly, (I do a lot of that). You can do it on a computer or with your hands, even scribbling on the back of a napkin if an idea strikes you at any time. Engineering is a really broad word that covers so many interesting and exciting careers. Is there a particular type of engineering that interests you?

If you look around you almost everything you see is directly or indirectly the product of engineering. Even something as everyday as a pencil is produced by engineering so I could answer your question by say, “everything”. If something you have works well then its the result of good engineering. If something you have keeps breaking or just doesn’t do what its suppose to then that is the result of bad engineering. Its rather strange that we are surrounded by things that are engineered and yet engineering itself is just about invisible. You can if you like think of us as an army of invisible heros.
