I did this when I was working for Nokia who were a Finnish company. I was lucky to get the opportunity to do as it was paid for by the company as a thank to the team for delivering a new mobile phone. It was an amazing experience and like no other in my life. We had 2 days on the ski doos riding over miles and miles of open country side all covered in thick snow – and riding over frozen lakes. We spent the first night in a log cabin miles from anywhere it was fantastic.

I am interest in the arctic and wanted to know what life is like at -20c and below. 50 years ago or more when I was a boy growing up in Hertfordshire which is in the south of England we had snow every winter which seemed to have lasted for weeks. That doesn’t happen anymore. Now my observation isn’t very scientific at all but there is good scientific evidence that climate change is happening. We know the polar ice caps are shrinking and my company took an image from a satellite of a huge iceberg breaking away from Greenland.
